As the members of the Baby Boomer generation have begun to reach retirement age they have completely turned the traditional idea of the “sunset years” on its ear. The senior citizen of today is nowhere near ready to slow down and has more opportunities than ever before to continue enjoying life to the full.

Nor does sit mention the ships library pool tables onboard shops and private deck areas along the ships stern where you can simply stretch out on a lounge chair and watch the clouds and ocean drift by.

Most cruises will offer lectures and seminars on everything from the culture of your next portofcall to the wines being offered with the evenings entrees. If you love the food you may be lucky enough to sit in on a cooking lesson with the ships chef or even a visiting celebrity chef! One cruise line will even let you earn SCUBA certification before you reach the next great coral reef.

The stage show offered of todays cruise ships are every bit the equal of what you can expect to see in Las Vegas complete with pyrotechnics laser lighting and huge casts of dancers and singers. Royal Caribbean has three ships with ice skating rinks and even if you think your skating days are behind you you can still enjoy their version of the Ice Capades! Vaudeville is alive and well on cruise ships when youre in the mood for sheer silliness.

Most cruise ships have cocktail mixers at which you can mingle with your shipmates and most of them also have dance floors where you can strut your stuff. The casinos and Bingo parlors are great for fun on the days youre at sea but the portsofcall youll visit are really the highlights of your cruise. Pulling into a tropical bay with balmy breezes and 75 temperatures when the folks back home are bundled up against the snow and strolling along a deserted beach or playing a round of golf on one of the worlds elite courses are just some of the unforgettable experiences youll enjoy on your cruise.

Because of this cruisers have to spend more time on the sea and less time on the ports. it is the mainland Mexico Belize Costa Rica or at larger islands Jamaica Dominican Republic on which there are the ports of call in the western Caribbean sometimes. As a result there are varieties of the shore excursion choices.

At last in Caribbean cruise both Eastern and Western itineraries are great. So according to ones like one can choose the best itineraries for enjoying their vacations.

Here is info on one of my favorite pasttimes here in San Felipe. It lasts only 3 days but that is plenty of time for this “sleepy little town”.

The Baja 250 is the peninsula’s version of the Calgary Stampede except the course is narrow 240.34 miles long and the bulls have 200 decible bellows and 3000 suspension. The Baja 250 is in full swing this weekend. The PreRuns have drawn a number of early arrivals and the desert is pluming dust to the west. Freight trucks tractor trailers and 5th wheel trailers have been lumbering into town all night glazed by the sand of the evening’s windstorm. Parking in town has become an Easter Egg Hunt. The trophy trucks will own the town for the next few days.

Many people are unclear regarding property rightsin Mexico for Americans. NAFTA is a controversial subject but it lead to better property rights for Americans.With the North American Free Trade Agreement beginning January 1 1994 the Foreign Investment Act of 1993 was passed by the Mexican congress to promote foreign investment into Mexico. This law allowed foreigners to own 100 of the shares of a corporation and purchase property. As a foreigner you can acquire irrevocable and absolute ownership rights to property in Mexico through a 50 year perpetually irrevocable and transferable Fideicomiso Trust. This enabled foreigners as beneficiaries of the trusts to legally enjoy unrestricted use of land located in the restricted area.The restricted area encompasses 100 kilometers along the border and 50 kilometers along the coast. Foreigners are allowed to purchase property in an “indirect way”. The most common is through a Fideicomiso.
