Airports there are five airports in Crete in total but you can only fly to three of them the other remaining airports are only used by the military these include Sitia and the Kazantzakis airport; photography is not allowed at these airports.

ATM these are not common in the smaller towns but there are some in the much larger towns. These machines are not filled up as regularly as in the UK so be sure to carry spare cash around with you.

Bank holidays Crete has the same order as here in the UK public offices such as shops post offices banks and public services are not in service but you can find some of the supermarkets still open in the main town.
Beaches There are many beautiful beaches in Crete ranging in size and terrain. Sandy beaches are more common and are found North and South of the island pebble beaches are also very common and protective swimwear should be worn to avoid being injured by a sea urchins. There are also life guards on the more popular beaches.
