Crete is split up into four prefectures Nomoi Chania Rethymno Iraklio and Lasithi.

Crete’s main source of revenue is through tourism or its agriculture where the olive tree has mass importance and Crete prides itself on its excellent olive oil. Like many other Mediterranean countries other produce such as grapes oranges and greenhouse grown vegetables are also very popular.
